Hot Apple Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a wonderful way to start your day! This recipe fills you up perfectly, and has apples for a great fruit flavour.
Equipment:
- Large cooking pot
- Steamer
Ingredients:
- Water: 3 cups
- Soy milk: 3/4 of a cup
- Wheat germ: 1/2 of a cup
- Ground/milled or whole flax seed: 1/4 of a cup
- Brown sugar: 2 Tbsp
- Ground cinnamon: 1 Tsp
- Oats (quick-cooking): 2 cups
- Golden raisins: 1/4 of a cup
- Apple (crisp, cored, and diced): 1
- Apples (chopped and dried): 1/4 of a cup
Directions:
- Steam the apple for about 2 minutes, until softens
- Add in the sugar and cinnamon, cooking until they dissolve, then add in water and boil
- Add in the wheat germ, oats, raisins and dried apples, stirring constantly until the oats have cooked
Note: Makes about 4 servings
If you like, add some extra brown sugar on top with some soy/rice/almond milk when serving!
